CHAMP-AV 6 VPX Quad PowerPC 8641

The CHAMP-AV6 utilizes the VPX-REDI format to unleash the tremendous I/O bandwidth of its eight FreeScale PowerPC 8641 processor cores (Four 8641D dual-core processors). The local and off-board Serial RapidIO interfaces provide up to 10X the communications bandwidth that was achievable with the VME format. Signal processing applications with streaming dataflows will benefit greatly from the dual 64-bit DDR2 memory subsystem associated with each 8641.

Developers migrating from VME-based CHAMP systems will find a familiar software environment with VxWorks, Continuum Vector DSP library and IPC inter-processor communications library so that they will quickly harness the new power and performance of the AV6 for single and multi-board systems.

SCP/DCP-124P 3U cPCI 7448

Designed for space constrained applications, along with the 124, the 124P is the next generation of 3U cPCI single board computers offering increased processing power competitive with any ruggedized 3U cPCI single board computer on the market today, with an impressive industry leading IO complement. Based on the Freescale PowerPC 7448 processor, it runs at a clock speeds of 1000 and 1200 MHz while executing an impressive 2773 Dhrystone Millions of Instructions per Second (DMIPS) (7448 at 1.2Ghz).

The challenge of high density computing is to pack the greatest functionality into the smallest standard form factor possible while retaining as much flexibility as possible. The 124P complements the 124, as a version of the card that is peripheral only, offering a full-speed onboard PMC site with unshared 64 bits of PMC IO, up to 2 Gigabit Ethernets, up to 3 serial channels (1 x RS-232, 2 x RS-422/485), up to 8-bit Discrete Digital I/O, and a Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0 port.

SDRxL Streaming Data Recorder

The SDRxL is a turn-key streaming data recorder system consisting of a controller and storage subsystem. Serial FPDP streaming data arrives via the industry standard SL240 boards. The field-proven SL240 boards have been used in many modern radar and sonar systems. The ANSI/Vita 17.1-2003 standard was originated by the Curtiss-Wright Dayton group—the Serial FPDP experts. For demanding sensor-to-processor streaming data applications, a powerful record/playback system like the SDRxL is needed.

PBOD X/PMC Solid State Flash Drive

The PBOD is a solid state hard drive implemented as a PMC or XMC card with just a Bunch Of USB flash Drives.  The PBOD can be used in lieu of hard disk drives in rugged industrial environments where temperature or vibration extremes cause high failure rates in mechanical hard disk drives or make them impractical.

The PBOD supports industry standard ECC NAND Flash correction as well as wear leveling on card. No additional external software drivers are needed. Wear leveling is extremely important in solid state drives as it increases the life time of the NAND devices. NAND Flash devices are limited in the number of program/erase cycles that it can endure, typically, 100,000 cycles. The wear leveling algorithm spreads program/erase cycles evenly across the media. This avoids premature device failure due to frequent erase cycles on the same block of Flash memory.
