Subject: Notification of Technical Support and Software Maintenance Program changes

Beginning April 18th, 2006 Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing will implement some important changes to its Technical Support and Software Maintenance Programs. The purpose of this notification is to help you understand the changes to these programs.

Curtiss-Wright will transition customers onto a common services platform that will provide faster access to the best services the industry has to offer! Our initial rollout of Guardian Select Services will integrate Technical Support and Software Maintenance teams from our Ottawa, Leesburg, and San Diego operations. These changes will affect the following types of CWCEC products:

Standard products - standard commercial off the shelf (COTS) products.
Custom products - custom engineered products.
Special products - includes FPGA, Graphics, Custom, Linux and Integrity based-products.

To access support beginning April 18th:

Our Free Standard Support Program features free support for all standard products and includes 8 hours for the special products listed above.

Our Paid Signature Support Program features assistance with special products and provides priority access to engineering domain experts. Customers with standard product may also purchase Signature Support to assist with application level troubleshooting.

Please review the following Technical Support transition plan for the Curtiss-Wright location you dealt with previously.

  • Customers with standard products with Linux and Integrity will continue to receive free standard support until July 18th at which time they must then transition to a Signature Support Program. To learn more about the Signature Support program please contact your sales representative.


Synergy Microsystems Inc. (San Diego, California, U.S.A.) doing business as Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing

  • Customers will continue to receive free standard support on all standard and special products purchased through our San Diego office until July 18th. After July 18th, 2006, customers with special products must transition to a Signature Support program.

Important Information for Customers with Software Maintenance

The Software Maintenance Program has been renamed to the Software Upgrade Program and provides our customers with access to on-going software updates via our TechNet website as they are made available. Updates may include changes to software, documentation or options intended to broaden, enhance, or improve capabilities of the product. The Guardian Select Software Upgrade Program features a 90-day trial period for customers who have purchased a Curtiss-Wright software product (BSPs and drivers).

Important Transition Information

Effective April 18th, San Diego software upgrades and updates will be available online through Curtiss-Wright's TechNet website (http://technet.cwcembedded.com).
