The VXS-ENC-0001 chassis allows developers to get a complete VXS processing system solution from one source. This VXS enclosure offers an integrated 4 payload and 1 switch slot backplane. The enclosure includes front to rear cooling fans to draw the air through the chassis with enough cooling for a fully loaded system of high-performance VXS boards, like the VPF2. This tower enclosure is 4U x 17" Height x 13.53" Diameter which includes a rear card cage area for Rear Transition Modules up to 80mm.
The VXS-ENC-0001 includes the VXS-BP-0001 backplane.
VXS-BP-0001 Backplane
Each payload slot is fitted with a 7-row MultiGig-2 connector at the VME P0 position which supports two fabric channels directly connected to the switch card in the fifth slot arranged in a star architecture. Each channel consists of 4 transmit and 4 receive links. The MultiGig connector also has pins assigned to rear I/O, which are accessible via a rear transition module.
