PSTB PMC StarFabric Bridge

The PSTB & PSRB PMCs are switched-fabric devices that provide powerful board-to-board connectivity for next-generation multi-computing platforms. Featuring StarGen's StarFabric technology, the PMC provides two 2.5 Gbps links to interface with a StarFabric network. These PMCs provide a powerful interconnect solution that meets the performance, scalability and reliability required by signal processing and other multi-processor applications.

The PSTB/PSRB features StarGen's PCI-StarFabric Bridge (SG2010) which interfaces 32/64-bit PCI buses operating at 33 or 66 MHz to the StarFabric universal switch fabric. PCI traffic is translated into serial frame format for transmission across the network. By connecting the SG2010's serial interfaces to other bridges or to a switch device, flexible topologies can be designed to fit specific application requirements for bandwidth, reliability, and number of endpoints or slots.

The PSTB/PSRB supports legacy address-routed traffic which provides 100% compatibility with existing PCI software including configuration, BIOS, OS and drivers. It also provides fabric-native path and multicast routing capability.

Curtiss-Wright provides a network driver software package that allows users to access the fabric without an in-depth knowledge of the StarFabric hardware. CW has also developed additional software to maximize memory management and inter-processor communications as well.
