StarLink
The distributed computing world is moving from bus-oriented systems, such as VME and Compact PCI, to one of computing nodes connected via high-speed networks. The advantage of such switched networks is greatly increased total bandwidth, and data flow determinism. This bandwidth is most critical to the DSP community which places the greatest demands on processing and data transfer technologies. To service these kinds of applications, CWCEC is introducing the StarLink Switched Fabric Inter-connect PMC. The StarLink PMC allows customers to build multi-board DSP, and SBC systems with a 5 Gbps switched fabric providing links between all the computing nodes. The StarLink PMC draws technology from the high-availability telecom industry to provide distinct features that service the needs of military and aerospace systems designers.
