The PowerMatrix-10 and PowerMatrix-20 are two of the offerings in the PowerMatrix family of fully integrated open-architecture SMP Systems. The PowerMatrix-10/20 systems provide developers with an application-software ready multi-processor system with easily customizable I/O. Based on five dual or quad SMP PowerPC boards, the PowerMatrix-10/20 systems are ideally suited for applications that require a high level of CPU processing and sharing of data between the processing units.
When tasks such as two dimensional FFTs are given to one of the Dual processing boards, the shared memory and two PowerPC 7457 processors with their Altivec units make short order of the work. When the processing is complete on one board, the high speed StarFabric interconnect can move the data at 200 MB/sec from one board to another with a bisectional bandwidth of 800 MB/sec.
With nine and four open PMC sites respectfully, the PowerMatrix-10/20 systems can be configured with many standard I/O options including Serial FPDP, Fibre Channel, MIL-STD-1553 and high-speed A/D channels. These user definable options, combined with the standard Gigabit Ethernet, Serial I/O, SATA, or FireWire allow the PowerMatrix-10/20 systems to receive raw data and transmit results to other parts of the system in fast and flexible ways.
Curtiss-Wright offers off-the-shelf standard configurations of PowerMatrix systems, designed to fit various tiers of application. PowerMatrix systems are highly modular and may be customized for particular processing and I/O needs.
