NASxR Network Attached Storage

Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing’s NASxR Network Attached Storage provides reliable, flexible, and highly consistent shared storage for file serving, storing, and retrieving critical data.

Curtiss-Wright Controls Embedded Computing NASxR is a modular unit consisting of a single rack mountable enclosure with a controller and removable disks. Network attachment is through any Ethernet RJ-45 jack. The user may tailor the storage capacity by specifying the size and number of disks in the unit. With twelve 300 GB FC disks, a maximum of 3.6 TB of storage is provided. The storage capacity of the Curtiss-Wright Controls NAS may be expanded even further with the addition of an external storage unit.

Centralized Data

The NASxR Network Attached Storage is shared storage attached to a local area network. The NASxR is a specialized appliance optimized for file serving, storing, retrieving, and serving files. Data can be centralized onto a NASxR device along with the security, management, and backup of the data.

Expandable Storage

The storage capacity of the Curtiss-Wright Controls NASxR may be expanded with the addition of an external Extended Storage Unit (ESU). By using the ESU the storage capacity is scalable to virtually any size that’s required. Interconnections between the I/O Transition modules on the controller unit (chassis with the Controller module installed) and the ESU are through fiber-optic cables.

Configuration and Control

The NASxR is configured and controlled by a user friendly web interface. The NASxR web interface is password protected for additional security. The web interface supports creating/deleting NFS and CIFS shares, allows management access to shares on a per-user basis. In addition the web interface can retrieve SMART disk information to monitor disk health. The NASxR web interface also allows the user to manage user accounts and enable/disable services.

Reliable Performance

The NASxR is designed for data critical applications and provides high data availability and system-level redundancy features. In addition the NASxR delivers high, consistent performance for these data critical applications.
