CWCEC's Sirena/PMC fulfills high performance requirements for a complete graphics and audio/video acquisition solution common to embedded computing processing environments, including Solaris, Linux, Windows, and leading real-time operating systems such as VxWorks.
Using CWCEC's 128-bit Borealis graphics accelerator, the Sirena/PMC supports 2D/3D/OpenGL/DirectX compatible displays with screen resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 with up to 16.7 million colors (32 bpp). Monitor support includes analog VGA and Sync-On-Green (SOG) plus digital DVI. A quad-image VGA/FCode BIOS enables the Sirena/PMC to operate in virtually any x86 or SPARC system using VGA, SOG, or DVI displays.
Other features of the Sirena/PMC include a Conexant Bt878A video digitizer (optional), a Philips ISP1561 USB 2.0 host controller, and a Micronas UAC 3555B USB Stereo Audio CODEC. The Sirena/PMC uses an ISP1561 USB port to provide a low overhead, software compatible solution. The UAC 3555B supports mono microphone or stereo line-in and stereo line-out, 5-band equalizer, volume, balance, and tone controls.
A unique asynchronous PCI bridge design supports all PMC interfaces from 32-bit, 33 MHz PCI to 64-bit, 133 MHz PCI-X. The local bus runs at 32-bit, 66 MHz if the Borealis alone is installed and at 32-bit, 33 MHz when the USB and/or Bt878A are installed (because they are 33 MHz devices).
The Borealis graphics accelerator is manufactured exclusively for CWCEC, which enables its comprehensive selection of Borealis-based PMC, CompactPCI and PCI display solutions to satisfy the extended product life-cycle requirements expected by the embedded computing market.
The Sirena/PMC is laid out in a Conduction Cooled PMC (CCPMC) compatible format and can provide all I/O to the PMC Pn4. When the front connectors are omitted, it can be mounted on a CCPMC CPU that supports the Primary Thermal Interface. Note: due to component placement, the Sirena/PMC is not compatible with carrier boards that have the CCPMC Secondary Thermal Interface rails.
Peritek offers a broad line of graphics and video-related PMC, PCI, and CompactPCI boards for single, dual, and quad monitor applications. CWCEC's PMC carriers for PCI and CompactPCI can be used to integrate the Sirena/PMC into systems which employ these popular embedded board formats.
