VPX3-450 VPX FPGA
The VXP3-450 is designed to used in either a single-board configuration, or in multi-board configurations with other VPX3-450 boards or the VPX3-127 Single Board Computer (SBC) with a high-speed PCI Express serial switching fabric. All platforms utilize Curtiss-Wright's Continuum Software Architecture (CSA) to insure compatibility and user code commonality across platforms. The VPX3-450 is supported by the Continuum FXtools design kit. The FXtools design kit includes the complete Continuum Firmware and BSP package for the PowerPC with extensions for VPX3-450 specific functionality, as well as highly-optimized IP blocks for such features as the memory and high-speed serial interfaces, control bus, intra-FPGA switching fabric, and so on. These blocks, all designed for optimal performance and qualified across the entire rugged temperature range of the VPX3-450, removes much of the risk associated with FPGA development and can significantly improve a project's time-to-deployment with no performance sacrifice. FXtools also includes a SystemVerilog (IEEE 1800™) based simulation test bench with full bus functional models and scripting support. Priority Signature Support is available for this product. The VPX3-450 expands Curtiss-Wright's growing family of 3U VPX-REDI products by bringing FPGA-based computing hardware to this versatile new form factor. The VPX3-450 combines the tremendous computing power of a Xilinx® Virtex® -5 FPGA with the high-performance floating-point capabilities of the Freescale 8640D dual-core PowerPC™ processor to bring unprecedented DSP capabilities to small form factor applications. With large DDR2 SDRAM and fast QDR-II+ SRAM blocks, and several on-board and off-board high-speed serial links, the VXP3-450 FPGA node provide a balanced mix of processing capabilities with memory, inter-FPGA, and off-board bandwidths. The VPX3-450 also offers an XMC site, giving system integrators the flexibility to add I/O mezzanines or additional FPGA processing in the form of the XMC-442 FPGA mezzanine board. | |
